Springfield Spring & Stamping – Investing in Tomorrows Technology…..Today!

Fourslide machines have been around for over 60+ years with no real innovation. That is – until now. Springfield Spring & Stamping recently invested in its first state-of-the art, servo-controlled Bihler slide forming machine. We have no doubt that these types of CNC servo-controlled slide forming machines will be a gamechanger in our industry and put us at the forefront of integrating CNC Fourslide stamping technology into our overall stamping capabilities. The investments we are making by converting to the Bihler servo-driven slide forming machines will allow Springfield Spring & Stamping to transform its stamping capabilities. This forward-thinking investment allows us to leverage innovative and contemporary SolidWorks-driven tool build strategies, increases production throughput, reduces part-tolerance variations, and ultimately REDUCE COSTS for our customers.

Bihler CNC Controlled Slide Forming Video

Standard Conventional Video

The above videos illustrates the unique difference between an older Fourslide machine and the new Bihler CNC slide forming machine. The Standard Conventional Video shows a part running at 3,500 pieces per hour. This part was converted into our new Bihler CNC slide forming machine. The Bihler CNC Controlled Slide Forming Video shows the same part running at over 8,500 pieces per hour. The set up was reduced from 8 hours in the older fourslide machine to less than 1 hour in the Bihler. The Bihler machine significantly reduces tolerance variations and tooling maintenance can be reduced by over 75%.
